Justin is a musician, composer, conductor, and teacher, who first moved to Houston in 2013 from his home state of Alabama. Originally from Mobile, he earned a double Bachelor of Music from the University of Alabama in 2013, followed by his Master and Doctoral of Musical Arts degrees from the University of Houston. As a performer, Dr. Langham maintains an active schedule around the U.S. and abroad, often as a member of the internationally renowned trumpet and organ duo, Deux Voix (“two voices”). Dr. Langham is also an award-winning composer and arranger with music performed around the U.S. and in countries such as Italy, Japan, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. An avid educator, Dr. Langham maintains a private teaching studio and has been on faculty at Lone Star College since 2015 teaching high brass, music theory, and aural skills.
At FUMCMC, Dr. Langham helps curate the music for the traditional service, plans concerts and other musical activities, and conducts the chancel choir and other musical groups in performances on Sunday mornings and other special events. He also has been active on the worship planning team for the Texas Annual Conference since 2015.
Aside from his musical activities, Justin is a lover of sports, travel, and food, especially Mexican food. He currently lives in the Museum District near downtown with his partner, pianist Andreea Mut, and their beautiful Great Pyrenees, Risa.
Above all, Justin is most passionate about sharing music with people in any way he can and loves being a part of the amazing team at First UMC Missouri City!
