Monday Musical Moment: A Year of Musical Moments!

Justin Langham   -
Happy Monday to all!
Today, we are taking a break from our series on Oskar Böhme to mark a special occasion!
This week is a special because it marks a full YEAR of Monday Musical Moments! We recently passed the year anniversary of my coming on board as part of the musical team here at First UMC Missouri City, and I started the weekly columns the following Monday. It is hard to believe a year has already passed us by!
As I reflect on the past year, I am filled with gratitude. I am grateful for the gift of music and its power to move people in deep and meaningful ways. I am grateful for my path in music and the experiences and personal connections it has brought me throughout my life thus far, including leading me to First UMC. Lastly, I am also very grateful for each and every one of you for coming with me on this electronic journey through music and life over the past year. Whether you have read few, some, or all of my weekly columns, thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts and love of different kinds of music and artistry. I hope that it has brought a new perspective on something you already new, or exposed you learn about things you never knew! I’m looking forward to sharing more exciting and wonderful music in 2022!
On this musical anniversary, I thought that there may be no better messenger or embodiment of music’s power over us than Mr. Bobby McFerrin. Here he is doing one of many improvised music-making with his audiences, this time at a Kennedy Center event celebrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
I hope you enjoy!
