Students

First Students at Missouri City is a place where our teens and families are loved, encouraged, challenged, and strengthened as they grow in their faith. Our youth ministries include sixth grade all the way through high school.

Our primary goal is to help students develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ by providing them the resources to grow in worship, ground them in the Word, and provide opportunities through mission to witness and serve others. We also give them the skills and the support they need to make wise decisions at this critical time in their lives.

First Students @ MC

First Students @ MC is the name of our Student Ministry at FUMCMC. We are about making disciples of Jesus Christ through engaging teenagers in the Word of God in transformative ways. Through building relationships with one another and meaningful worship, we hope to know God and make Him famous in our neighborhoods, school, communities and beyond.

Sunday School

During the 10:00 AM hour, students have the opportunity to come and study the word of God. Our teachers are long-time veterans of Student Ministries and have seen and heard it all. Everything. We welcome you to come upstairs to the Student HUB, grab as many doughnuts as possible and be challenged by God’s Word and to learn what it means to live a life of radical faith.

Sunday Nite Live (6:00pm)

This is our weekly Bible study for all students 6th-12th grade that meets during the school year. Meeting in the Fellowship Hall, we gather for fellowship and food followed by games and giveaways. Then we dive into worship and a large group message. Then we break into small groups to really bring the Word alive.

FAQs

Confirmation

Confirmation is a big step in your child’s personal faith journey, readying them  for a life of discipleship and Christian service. Our Confirmation program prepares your 6th grader to claim the Christian faith as his or her own. We kick off classes during the Sunday School hour in mid-January. Classes are taught by our Student  Ministries Director and Church staff and Pastors.

In addition to weekly classes, your student will participate in service projects within the church and our community. Students will be confirmed after Holy Week during our Sunday morning worship services.

Student HUB

The HUB is our meeting room here at FUMCMC. It is located upstairs on the North/West side of campus. This newly renovated room has pool tables, air hockey table, ping-pong and foosball table and video games. Plus areas to sit, chat, play board games or apply your arts and craft skills (make slime, paint a picture, beads, etc).

Mission Trips

Each summer, our students and adults come together to load up and head out into an area to serve, grow and experience the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We head out for a week for an exciting adventure of meeting new people, diving into God’s Word and growing deeper in our walk with the Lord.

We also offer One Day Mission opportunities throughout the year. We help around the church as well as our community. Keep an eye out for our Parent Newsletters and social media updates for upcoming opportunities.

Vacation Bible School

Our students are a big part of what makes VBS run! From assisting in the classrooms to helping with music, games or drama to running our sound booth, there are many areas for them to help! Follow along with the Children’s Ministry page and information to get your student plugged in!

Everything in Between

We provide not just amazing opportunities to serve and to grow in their faith but to also fellowship and have fun! We offer Movie Nights, fun day out to various parks and indoor facilities, swim parties, board/card game night, video game tournaments and so much more! For more information or to offer a suggestion, please email Jason anytime!
