MoCity Kids

MoCity Kids

The Children’s Ministry at MoCity First seeks to nurture the spiritual growth of children through God’s word, music, prayer, fun and ministry to others. We are a loving, spiritually nurturing, fun and safe community where we are committed to celebrating each person’s value within the body of Christ. We seek to provide all children, their families, and those who serve them with programming that instills an eternal imprint of God’s love, and helps them to grow in their relationships with one another, the world, and Jesus Christ.

We offer both Sunday school classes and social events to build a foundation of faith in every child. If you would like more information or have a question, please contact our Director of Children's Ministry, Leah Stevens, by email at or give her a call at 281-499-3502.

Children in Worship

We encourage children to be in all worship services for their entirety.  We feel it’s important for children to know and connect with the practices of the faith.  However, we do have options for younger children at both the Open Skies and Sanctuary Services.  Following Time for Young Disciples, children in 3rd – 5th grades are encouraged to remain in worship and will be given opportunities for learning during the service. Children in second grade and under can leave to go to their appropriate rooms.  Preschool children will be escorted to the Preschool class in Room 156; children in grades K-2 will be escorted to The ARK (formerly known as Music A & B).  During this time, children will be engaged with faith-based video clips, songs, games and crafts, but please know that this program will not replace the Sunday school hour. If you need more information, contact Leah Stevens (Director of Children’s Ministries) at

HalGLOween 2016

Join us Sunday, October 30 at 6:00 p.m. for our third annual HalGLOween! If you missed it last year, it is a combination of "Trunk”-or-Treating and a Glow Party all rolled into one.

It all takes place inside the church where the hallways are decorated with Halloween regalia. Children will travel inside to the Fellowship Hall for an EPIC glow party, complete with glow-in-the-dark games, face paint, prizes and even a few glowing foods. Be sure to wear neon or white clothing so it will glow in the black lights! And bring as many glow sticks as possible! The more the better!

Remember, we need families to decorate inside the church in the hallways . . . . the more creative the better . . . and pass out treats. Treats must be store-bought and individually wrapped! Pinterest is a great resource to find great decorating ideas! If you are interested, please arrive at the church at 5:15 to begin your set-up! Prizes will be awarded to the top three best decorated areas! Have fun and get creative!

If you have any questions, please contact our Director of Children’s Ministry, Leah Stevens at or call her at the church office, 281-499-3502.
